Back in December, we ordered new shocks and struts but just now had time to install them.

Chevy Silverado GMC Sierra Shocks and Struts replacement
These are the original Rancho shocks and struts that came with this GMC Sierra Z71 which now has 180k miles. The shocks are still functional but getting weak. One of the struts was locked up and the other was still going about the same as the rear shocks. It was time.
Hitting bumps was jarring. These trucks ride pretty good, but this one definitely had something going on. Once we installed the new shocks and struts, its rides so much better!
What did we replace them with? After lots of shopping (I love finding deals) we landed on a complete set of shocks and struts made by QTE Auto. Once they arrived, we inspected them and they were well made and finished. Very nice actually.
What sold us on them? They use Freudenberg NOK seals. Yeah, I had to google that one too but apparently this is an OE quality type seal. They use Eneos oil. Yep, had to google that one too and that is also an OE type oil. Based on these items (and the price) it was a no brainer from there on.
Why not Rancho? Nothing against Rancho, but I’m just not into “well known” brands anymore and who even knows where they’re made these days anyway. If I can find a deal on a part that’s well made and gets the job done while saving money, that’s where I’m spending it.
